Episode 4 of Chasing Portugal takes us to Praia da Mira in search of a unique opportunity — canal surfing.
What started as an idea quickly turned into one of the most unusual waves we’ve ever ridden. Using the power of my Nissan Patrol in a canal connecting the lagoon to the ocean, we discovered a perfect setup for wake surfing and river surfing in the middle of coastal Portugal.
This episode explores the hidden side of Portugal’s surf culture — where creativity, local knowledge, and a bit of experimentation can reveal waves in the most unexpected places.
From scouting the canal to actually riding the wave, this was one of the most fun and unique sessions we’ve had while filming Chasing Portugal.
